Unfortunately, the company that published Great Raids in History is no longer active. Thus new copies of this book will be hard to find. Some on-line sites may have copies.
Green Bay Art Street:
On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August 2014 Michael signed copies of four of his books (GALAHAD, Elite Warriors, Great Raids in History, and Behind The Lines) during the annual Art Street celebration in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was set up in front of Bosse's News and Tobacco on Cherry Street in a tent with other local writers. He was there from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm on both days.
Michael also signed copies of his books during Art Street in 2015 on 29 and 30 August . On the Sunday in 2015, between 3:00 and 3:30 , in a special tent for author readings, Michael read a selection from Behind The Lines dealing with the Alamo Scouts and an attempted rescue on Pegun Island. Several people after the reading purchased copies of Behind The Lines. It was a very successful weekend for Michael. He was particularly surprised at how many veterans who stopped by to talk with him were woman who had served in the various services of the U.S.Armed Forces. This is the second Art Street Festival that Michael has been invited into Bosse's local authors tent.
Michael appeared again at the 2016 Green Bay Art Street festival. He read a chapter from Behind The Lines dealing with the battle at Merville Battery on the morning of D-Day, 6 June 1944; the reading was at noon on Saturday, 27 August. For the third year, Michael was in Bosse's local authors' tent throughout the weekend, beginning on Friday, 26 August. Once again, visitors to the tent inspired interesting conversations and questions.
Michael appearing again at Bosse's local authors' tent during Art Street 2017, held on 25 through 27 August. He was there all three days for several hours each day and also conducted a reading from one of his books. Lots of interesting visitors stopped by and one invited Michael to speak at a meeting of his group.
For the fifth year Michael appeared at the local author's booth sponsored by Bosse's during Art Street 2018. Several interesting visitors stopped by, bought boks, and talked with Michael. One was a woman from Minnesota whose maiden name was "Dilley." After the Festival, one of the other authors assisted Michael in developing and having printed a poster advertising his books.

Speeches and Interviews:
Michael spoke to the Green Bay Area Retired Men's Club at the main branch of the Brown County Library, 515 Pine Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin on 1 July 2014. He got an enthusiastic response from the group and fielded some interesting questions.
Michael was interviewed on radio station WOCO (107.1 FM and 1260 AM) in Oconto, Wisconsin on 17 July 2014 between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Host Walter Kaszynski and Michael spoke for about an hour on military subjects and Michael's books.
On 26 September 2017, Michael spoke to the Green Bay Kiwanis Club at their meeting at The Rite Place restaurant on Bellevue Street in Green Bay. He spoke about one of the units from two of his books, the Alamo Scouts, the Special Reconnaissance Unit of Sixth Army in the Southwest Pacific during World War II. His talk was well received and several orders for books resulted.
Learning in Retirement, Lifelong Learning Institute, UWGB, and other activities:
Michael presented two two-hour classes on "The Origins of American Special Purpose, Special Mission Military Units" for the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay (UWGB) Institute for Learning in Retirement. These classes were presented on 19 and 26 September 2014 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon in the Auditorium of the National Railroad Museum at 2285 South Broadway in Green Bay. They covered the period from 1622 to 1865. The classes well received and well attended. Lively questions were asked during each session.
Michael conducted three two-hour classes in the Fall 2015 semester based on the theme "Behind the Lines in World War II." Classes were presented on 5, 12, and 19 November 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon each day. Classes were held in the Mauthe Center on the UWGB campus. Class attendance was much higher than last year and discussions were just as lively; comment cards following the three sessions were extremely favorable.
For the Spring 2016 semester Michael presented three additional two-hour classes on the same theme. These classes were held at the Neville Public Museum in downtown Green Bay from 10:00 until 12:00 noon on 4, 11, and 18 April 2016. The response was again enthusiastic. One of the attendees sent Michael some photos of the area surrounding the Norsk Hydro plant in Norway to help illustrate his presentation on the Heavy Water Raids there.
Michael again presented three two-hour classes for the Spring 2017 semester. These were conducted on 15, 22, and 29 March from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and were conducted at the Mauthe Center on the campus of UWGB. Following the session that dealt with the Office of Strategic Services one of the attendees sent Michael a copy of an OSS Field Manual dealing with the OSS Maritime Unit. The final session dealt with "Women at War" and discussed three units from World War II that were composed exclusively of women in military roles. This was so enthusiastically received that many of the attendees brought friends to attend. Following the presentation, Michael was asked to present additional information on Women in World War II. Such a session will be included in the Spring 2018 sessions that Michael has been asked to present.
Over the Memorial Day weekend 2017, Michael and three other local Green Bay authors shared a booth at the 2017 Sturgeon Bay Fine Arts Fair. This annual arts festival was held at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay on 27 and 28 May. This was the first time that writers have been included at this festival. During each day the four authors presented readings from their books. The other three authors were: Ellyn Baker, Monette Bebow-Reinhard, and Nancy Sweetland. During the event several other authors stopped by the tent and expressed an interest in appearing at the Fair in the future.
Michael again presented three two-hour sessions for the Spring 2018 semester of the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at UWGB on 11, 18, and 25 April. The first two sessions, presented at the Suamico Village Center, centered on Behind The Lines operations by special purpose, special mission units during World War II. The final session, presented in a classroom in Rose Hall on the UWGB campus, dealt with "Women at War " , discussing how many countries in World War II made use of women in their various military services. It also included a discussion of the "Doll Lady" spy case during that war. Due to lack of space a large number of attendees for that last session were turned away. Michael offered to repeat that same presentation in the Spring 2019 semester; his offer was accepted. He plans also to offer two sessions during that Spring 2019 semester on Behind The Lines operations in various wars, not including World War II.
On 14 June (the 243rd anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army), Michael presented his books to a meeting of the NEW Military Officers' Club at the Ravine Pub & Grill in Green Bay. In presenting them, he explained the definition of "special purpose, special mission units" that he and Lance Zedric had developed in the Introduction of their book Elite Warriors. Following the dinner several members purchased autographed copies of Michael's books.
On 8 December 2018, Michael and his veterans' group (AMVETS Post 11, Green Bay) co-sponsored (along with the Green Bay Chapter of the Navy League), the third annual Veterans Fund Raiser during the Army-Navy game. This was held at the Shorewood Golf Course on the grounds of the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Several raffles, including a 50-50 one, were held during the game and Michael sold several autographed copies of some of his books; part of the intake on these books was donated to the fund raiser.
Michael again presented classes to the UWGB Lifelong Learning Institute during the Spring 2019 semester. On 3 and 10 April he presented two-hour classes on Behind The Lines in History, including operations during the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and on the Raid on Entebbe. These were held at the Allouez Village Hall. On 15 May he repeated the "Women at War" class from the Spring 2018 semester. This was held at the Mauthe Center on the UWGB campus. The turnout for this session was large and the information presented was well received.
In July 2022, Michael's most recent book, entitled Rangers, Scouts, and Raiders - Origin, Organization, and Operations of Selected Special Operations Forces, was accepted for publication by Casemate, It is tentatively scheduled for release in the Spring of 2023.
